What happens between the registration form and the follow-up

How our online consultations work

Six steps, from a short form to a follow-up that builds your pola makan over time.

Read this first

No surprises, no long waits

This page walks through what happens from the moment you fill in the registration form to the end of a session. No surprises, no long waiting periods, no jargon. If you would rather read what a consultation can cover before you decide, the topics page lists the areas families ask about most — from everyday menu harian planning to meals during pregnancy.

Step one

The registration form

The form on our register page asks for your name, contact details, a short description of your goals, and anything you want the dietitian to know in advance. It takes a few minutes.

A

Where the answers go

Your notes are read by a registered dietitian before anything is scheduled. Nothing you describe is used as a test, and there is no right answer.

B

Why honest beats tidy

The more honest your description of your usual eating, the more useful the first session will be. A rough picture beats a polished one.

C

What you should have open

Two or three days of what you roughly eat, any medication or medical advice you follow, and one packaged product you buy often if labels matter to you.

Step two

Review by a dietitian

A registered dietitian reads your form before anything gets scheduled. This is where we flag whether your question fits an online consultation or needs a different route. It is also where we spot things worth asking about.

If something in your form is unclear, we follow up before the session rather than spend your time on it later. That sounds small, but it is the difference between a session that moves quickly and one that starts with backtracking.

What gets checked in the review

  • A Does the question fit a remote session
  • B Anything unclear to follow up on
  • C Health context worth flagging
  • D Which dietitian to pair you with

The session runs on what you already eat — not on a template you have to match.

Step three

Scheduling

We contact you to agree on a time. Sessions run online, so you can join from home, work, or a relative's house. Flexibility in time and location is one of the reasons families around Indonesia use remote nutrition care instead of travelling into the city.

It depends on your connection, though. If your internet is unreliable, tell us before we lock the time and we will plan around it — a phone call at the same hour is a workable substitute.

Step four

The session itself

You and the dietitian talk through your usual meals, portion sizes, drinks, and any health context. Expect questions about your menu harian, not just your goals — what a weekday lunch actually looks like, what you drink between meals, how often you eat out.

A 2026 study on telenutrition in Indonesia noted that remote sessions allow for more tailored guidance, and that is the point: the conversation is about your food, not a generic template. One limitation is worth naming. We cannot examine you physically, so we rely on what you describe and on any information you already have from a doctor.

Steps five and six

What you leave with, and what happens next

Most sessions end with two or three specific adjustments, not a complete overhaul. Each change should be something you can picture doing tomorrow.

E

Adjust, do not restart

You might change how protein is spread across the day or add a vegetable to a meal you already cook. Nothing gets thrown out.

F

A summary that reflects what you agreed

If you receive a written summary, it lists the changes you and the dietitian settled on — not a rulebook of everything you got wrong.

G

Follow-up is how changes stick

Between sessions you try the changes and notice what happens. Some fit your week and some do not. The next conversation starts from what you observed.

What makes an adjustment survive the week

  • It uses food you already buy
  • It fits a meal you actually cook
  • It changes one thing at a time
  • You can picture eating it tomorrow

Prepare before the session

What you need to prepare

Keep a rough record of what you eat for two or three days, including snacks and drinks. Note any health conditions, medications, or medical advice you are following. Write down your questions. If you buy packaged food regularly, have one product nearby so you can look at the label makanan together.

That is the whole list. Nothing has to be perfect.

Boundaries of remote nutrition care

  • No physical examination — we work from what you describe.
  • We do not prescribe medication.
  • We do not stand in for your physician on a medical condition.
  • If your situation needs in-person care, we say so and explain why.

Before you book

Questions families ask first

Do I need a diagnosis or referral to book?

No. You only need your name, contact details, and a short description of what you want to change. If the review team thinks your question is better handled by your physician first, they will tell you and explain why.

How long does a session take?

Expect a conversation that walks through your usual meals, drinks and health context. The exact length is confirmed with you when the time is agreed, because a first session with a lot to cover takes longer than a follow-up check-in.

Can my family join the call?

Yes, and for families cooking one pot for everyone it often helps. Mention it in your form so the dietitian can plan the conversation around more than one person's menu harian.

What if I miss a session or need to move it?

Tell us as soon as you can. Sessions are scheduled around a dietitian's day, so an early message usually means we can find another slot. If you are not sure whether you are ready, it is fine to hold the registration and come back to it later.

Ready when you are

If you already know what you want to work on, the registration form takes a few minutes and nothing is committed until a time is agreed. If you would rather talk to a person first, the team answers during office hours.
